Ich möchte verzollen… (I’d like to declare…) : My Life and Other Excuses

Hi there, neglected blog. I just wanted to offer an update/excuse…
My life has suddenly been a chaotic balancing act of two internships and one almost full time job, a new puppy, being a wife/homemaker (call me old fashioned, but I LOVE taking care of my husband- even if that means cooking dinner and folding a load of laundry instead of going for a run), and it is November. Why is November significant? Well let me tell you. Firstly, the weather. England in Autumn is cold! Cold and rainy. This makes running especially difficult. It takes triple the motivation to run in the cold rain down a muddy sidewalk.  Secondly is the lighting, which is also a problem. Unlike summer when the sun doesn’t set until 9pm, in November it is dark by 5, making evening runs cold, wet, AND dark. No fun I tell you!
Lastly, NANOWRIMO! This one, I’ll confess, is purely self-inflicted. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month (http://nanowrimo.org). Participates write 50,000 words over the course of the month, with lots of get togethers and Twitter write-ins to get you going. This is my first year and I am already behind; all my free time is being sucked up into this novel which, unfortunately, won’t write itself.
So there you have it: the reasons I’m failing as a blog author.
Did I mention one of my three jobs has me in Germany this week and I’m posting this entire thing from my phone? Because there’s that, too.
Well Auf Wiedersehen for now, readers, but I haven’t forgotten you. I will be more focused come Decmeber, when my internships have ended and my novel is through. I feel like the delicious butter I put on my toast; spread way, way, way too thin.
